The Bugatti Bolide has recently been awarded the title of the most stunning supercar in the world for 2023 at the 36th international car festival in Paris. The hypercar model, which surpasses even the most impressive supercars, was recognized by a panel of esteemed design experts and deemed worthy of this highly-coveted accolade.
The Bugatti Bolide was recently crowned as the winner of the prestigious title of “Most Beautiful Supercar of 2021”. The competition was tough, with three other contenders in the running (whose names were not disclosed). To qualify for the competition, the cars had to meet specific criteria such as being mass-produced, priced above 60,000 euros, and possessing both a sporty design and exceptional performance. This award is given out annually, and the winning models are typically introduced in the same year.
As per Carscoops, the Bugatti Bolide holds the title of being the priciest car in the running. Moreover, it is the most superior Bugatti production to date.
The car’s look is defined by its sleek body, equipped with numerous air vents for enhanced aerodynamics. Its LED headlights and taillights are shaped like an X, while its exhaust features a one-of-a-kind design. Furthermore, the Bugatti Bolide boasts a massive rear diffuser and a racing-style spoiler on its back end.
Bugatti’s Design Director Achim Anscheidt has stated that the design team faced an entirely new challenge while creating Bolide. The team worked tirelessly for four months in a fully digital process to ensure every aspect of Bolide’s design was harmonized and perfected. The team’s dedication to their craft deserves commendation for creating such a masterpiece.
The Bolide’s interior is distinct from the Chiron as it boasts an incredibly low seating position. Bugatti’s VP of Design, Frank Heyl, highlights that while the cabin maintains the brand’s identity, it doesn’t feature the opulence and extravagance seen in their traditional road-going supercars.
The design was all about creating a space that is free from distractions and with maximum visibility. The use of wraparound glass and easy-to-reach controls ensured that the driver’s attention was on the road at all times.
Back in October 2020, the concept car Bolide was unveiled to the public. It was just a vision of what could be possible in the future. But, after a warm reception from potential buyers, Bugatti made the decision to turn that concept into a reality. They announced in August 2021 that they would be producing a limited run of only 40 Bolide supercars available worldwide.
Bugatti Bolide, presented as a conceptual model, will be powered by an 8.0L W16 engine with four turbochargers, capable of delivering a massive output of 1,824 horsepower. This beast will require 110 octane racing fuel to run. However, the production version will have a slightly reduced capacity of 1,578 horsepower and can run on regular 98-octane fuel that is commercially available.
